东汉末年，朝纲混乱。朝廷内有董卓（吕晓禾 饰）巨奸权倾朝野，专横跋扈；朝廷外有黄巾军起义，撼动社稷。曹操（陈建斌 饰）韬光养晦，欲为国除害。逃出京城后，曹操与各地诸侯袁绍、刘备（于和伟 饰）、孙坚等二十路豪杰会盟，共同讨伐董卓。几番征战，董卓最终死于义子吕布（何润东 饰）之手。东汉朝廷气数将近，英雄豪杰皆觊觎天下，上演了一场群雄逐鹿的争霸大戏。关羽（于荣光 饰）、张飞、诸葛亮（陆毅 饰）、周瑜、夏侯渊、陆逊、姜维、司马懿（倪大宏 饰）等风云人物相继进入历史大戏，魏、蜀、吴三分天下，千古传奇流传至今。 本片根据中国古典四大名著之一《三国演义》改编。 （英语）The series is adapted from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, one of China's Four Great Classical Novels. In the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty, the dynasty was descending into chaos. In the imperial court, treacherous Dong Zhuo (acted by Lv Xiaohe) had seized the power and dominated the politics; outside the court, the Yellow Turban Rebellion broke out and imperiled the empire. Cao Cao (acted by Chen Jianbin) bided his time in order to get rid of Dong Zhuo. After escaping from the capital Luoyang, Cao Cao allied with various regional officials and warlords including Yuan Shao, Liu Bei (acted by Yu Hewei) and Sun Jian to rise up against Dong Zhuo. After several battles, Dong Zhuo was betrayed and murdered by his foster son Lv Bu (acted by Peter Ho). In the meantime, the Han Empire was already disintegrating into civil war as warlords fought for territories and power. Three dominant kingdoms, Wei, Shu and Wu, later emerged, and numerous legendary figures, such as Guan Yu (acted by Yu Rongguang), Zhang Fei, Zhuge Liang (acted by Lu Yi), Zhou Yu, Xiahou Yuan, Lu Xun, Jiang Wei, Sima Yi (acted by Ni Dahong), cropped up during the period, and their stories have been passed down to this day.
