The launching ceremony of the “Picturesque Zhejiang” Promotion Season in Europe and Asia was held on Friday in Hangzhou.

Hosted by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the event welcomed distinguished guests, including Mr. Xu Peng, Deputy Director-General and first class Inspector of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Yao Guowen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Guo Qing, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Zhejiang Media Group, and Mr. Lukyantsev Dmitrii, Consul General of Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shanghai.

Xu Peng said in his speech that Zhejiang and Eurasian countries have frequent exchanges and close cooperation in economic and trade, culture, tourism and other aspects. Under the leadership of the initiative of "One Belt, One Road", the exchanges and cooperation between Zhejiang and Eurasian countries have achieved new results. The event aims to present the beautiful image of Zhejiang in a short story, to show the people of Eurasian countries the landscape and humanistic style of Zhejiang, enhance mutual friendship, promote cultural exchanges and mutual appreciation and people-to-people exchanges.

In his speech, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shanghai Lukiyantsev said that cultural cooperation is one of the most important methods of international relations development, which helps to build bridges and bring people closer to each other. We are grateful to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province for organizing the " Picturesque Zhejiang " Eurasian promotion season to help cultural and tourism exchanges between Russia and China, and look forward to the interconnection and mutual benefit of Russia and China, as well as more opportunities for cooperation in culture and tourism between Russia and China.

With the theme of "Embrace", the "Picturesque Zhejiang" Eurasian promotion season has produced 6 episodes of "Embrace" documentary series and 20 short videos. These programs are based on Zhejiang's mountains, water, people and emotions, integrating a touching story in poetry and painting, showing the rivers, lakes, seas, mountains and cities of Zhejiang to overseas audiences in ultra-high definition, allowing the charm of the poetic Zhejiang to blossom in the world.

At the launching ceremony, media representatives from 10 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Russia, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan and the UAE, signed a contract for the overseas broadcasting cloud of the documentary series "Embrace". The documentary series "Embrace" will be broadcasted globally through these media, and the whole network broadcast channel will cover more than one hundred countries.
