The TV animated cartoon series The Legend of Yellow River was created focusing on the main idea of Hebao, the mascot of the Yellow River, and the major strategic issue put forward by Chinese president Xi Jinping, that is, the Yellow river brings peace to the Chinese nation. The Chinese character 黄(yellow) is represented by the cartoon image Huang Xiaoxuan(the Yellow Emperor Xuan Yuan) in teen age. 河（river）is represented by the cartoon image He Xiaoluo(people who live in southern Fujian), 宁(tranquil) is represented by the cartoon image Ning Xiaotao(ancient painted pottery culture titled Yangshao). 天（heaven）is represented by the cartoon image Tian Xiaolong(the Yellow River dragon in teen age). 下( land under heaven) is represented by the cartoon image Xia Xiaoli(the carp living in the Yellow River). 平(safe and sound) is represented by the cartoon image Ping Xiaoniu(an iron bull that calms the Yellow River). The six cartoon images are leading roles in the animated cartoon where they’re called little heroes of the Yellow River and tells a story in Chinese style.
